Whitechapel is the brainchild of Alex Smith, Martin Cate and John Park. It was born of an original idea from Alex Smith to create the ultimate destination for gin. Martin Cate furthered the idea by applying the same principles he used for rum at Smuggler’s Cove to the new concept, namely the creation of an immersive themed experience designed to evoke an abandoned 19th-century London Underground staton, a menu that celebrates the entire history of gin with over 100 cocktails, the largest selection of gin (over 450) in North America including vintage bottlings dating to the 1920s, and an education component that clarifies the mysteries surrounding the spirit and reveals gin as a diverse and playful ingredient. Our kitchen, helmed by Chef David Murphy, offers a sophisticated and innovative menu incorporating British, Dutch and Bangladeshi influences.
