Negroni Week 2019 Raises Nearly $800,000 in Donations
Thanks to 12,000+ bars and restaurants around the world, Negroni Week 2019 raised $790,046 in donations!
To date, Negroni Week has raised almost $3 million for charitable causes, and the money raised for this year’s charity partners will support a range of causes, from protecting wildlife and the environment to supporting health and wellness initiatives and advocating for equality and justice around the world. For the third consecutive year, 2019’s top fundraiser was Kettner Exchange in San Diego, which means that in addition to receiving the donations raised via the Negroni Week website, their chosen charity, One More Wave, will receive $10,000 donations from both Campari and Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits. One More Wave provides ocean therapy and custom surfing equipment to military veterans who are dealing with anxiety, depression and PTSD.
Imbibe also randomly selected a participating Negroni Week venue to receive an additional $7,500 donation for their chosen charity, and this year Good Luck in Rochester, NY, was picked, which means their chosen charity, the Surfrider Foundation, received this additional donation. Surfrider is dedicated to protecting the world’s oceans and beaches, which are under greater threat than ever before. “Our bar team at Good Luck chose the Surfrider Foundation based on the great work they do to protect the oceans,” says Charles Cerankosky, owner of Good Luck. “A whole bunch of our crew are avid water sports enthusiasts, and it seemed a natural fit to simultaneously stir a couple hundred Negronis for Negroni Week as well as for an organization that works to preserve our favorite natural habitat.”
We’d like to thank all of the bars, restaurants and retailers that participated in Negroni Week this year, and our charity partners who are all working to improve the world in vitally important ways. We’re also so grateful to everyone who supported their local participating venues during the week and to our incredibly generous sponsors, Campari, Bols Genever, Cinzano and Bulldog Gin.
Stay tuned for an announcement of dates for Negroni Week 2020, and until then, be sure to toast this wonderful collective effort with a Negroni!
